I received the following from the Irish Society, so here is their posting, for those literary types!
---------------------------------------------------
‘The Swedish Irish Society, in association with the James Joyce Society of Sweden and Finland, invites you to join us on June 16th as we celebrate one of the world’s greatest novels, Ulysses, with an evening of theatre, food, readings and lectures.
Our venue is Rönnells Antikvariat, Birger Jarlsgatan 32, one of Stockholm’s most atmospheric book shops. From 19.04, guests will be treated to a range of entertainments in Swedish and in English, including dramatic readings from the Spuds and Sill theatre group and a world premiere interpretation of Joyce’s epiphanies. Food and drink, inspired by Ulysses, will be served throughout the evening, including a ‘good glass of Burgundy’, ‘a cheese sandwich, Gorgonzola’ and, for those with a taste for it, succulent pork kidney! And, as the evening winds to a close in Rönnells, we are invited to turn to the nearby Regent Pub, where, like ‘Ned, taking up his John Jameson’, we can finish the evening on a high!
Further details of this event are set out in the attached poster and on the Swedish Irish Society’s Facebook page,
